Binder keeps what you write on your device. This explains exactly what that means.

This is the same text Binder shows inside the app, under Settings. Where it refers to a screen or a setting, it means one in the app.
Binder does not collect your personal information and does not ask you to make an account. There is no analytics, no advertising, and no crash reporting in this app.
Everything you write stays in Binder's private storage on this device, where other apps cannot read it. Nothing you write in a notebook is ever sent anywhere.
One screen sends anything at all — Feedback, and only once you have typed a message and tapped Send. The other ways data can leave this device belong to Android and Google Play rather than to Binder. All of it is described below.
Your notebooks, notes, documents and saved templates are stored in a database file inside the app's own private folder.
Your preferences — theme, shelf layout, note sorting, the keyboard setting, which templates you used most recently, and which update you declined — are stored in a small settings file in the same folder.
That is the complete list. Binder does not read your contacts, location, photos, camera, microphone, or any other app's data. The only permission it holds is internet access, and the section below is the entirety of what that is used for.
The Feedback screen in Settings is the only part of Binder that sends anything over the internet, and it does so only once you have typed a message and tapped Send.
What goes with it is exactly what that screen shows you beforehand: your message, whether you marked it a bug, an idea or something else, the app version, your Android version and your device model. Nothing from your notebooks is included, and there is nothing in it that identifies you — no account, no device identifier, and no address to reply to.
Messages are delivered by Formspree, a form-handling service, which is bound by its own privacy policy for the time it holds them. If you never open that screen, Binder never opens a connection at all.
Nothing in your notebooks is uploaded, synced, or read by anyone. There is no account to attach it to, and no server of ours for it to sit on.
Checking for app updates is done by asking the Google Play Store app already installed on this device, not by Binder connecting to anything itself. Nothing you have written is involved in that check.
If you have Android's backup feature switched on, the operating system may copy Binder's data — including your notebooks and notes — into your own Google Drive backup, encrypted and tied to your Google account. This is done by Android, not by Binder, and it is the same mechanism that restores your apps to a new phone.
You can turn it off for all apps in Android's Settings, under System, Backup. What that backup contains and how long Google keeps it are governed by Google's privacy policy, not by this one.
If you installed Binder from Google Play, Google may collect information about that installation — the fact of the download, and the crash and performance data Android reports automatically for apps distributed through Play. That happens between your device and Google, and is covered by Google's own privacy policy.
Binder does not receive that information.
Deleting a note or a notebook inside Binder removes it from the database. Deleting a notebook deletes the notes inside it as well.
Uninstalling Binder removes everything the app stored on this device. There is no copy anywhere else to ask us to delete — we have never had one. If you have Android backup switched on, a copy may remain in your Google Drive backup until Android replaces or expires it.
Because there is no account and no server, there is nothing to request access to, export, or erase from us.
Binder is a notebook and is suitable for general audiences. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age, because it does not collect information.
If this policy changes, the updated text ships with the app and the date under the title changes with it. Material changes will be described in the release notes on Google Play.
